Forgotten specifically deals with the issue of struggle and in the midst of that struggle/crisis feeling as though you are all alone or have been forgotten. This is an issue that many of us have faced or encountered in our lives.
"Forgotten" ultimately serves as cry out to the world to realize that our lives don't only affect us, and to promote more awareness of the idea of service. We are here to serve and help each other along the way. No, we can't all single handedly change the world on our own, but we can all make it better together. So many people don't stop to help because they think it has to be something astronomical like a million dollars, or they feel like the little they might be able to do won't be enough. (It could be as simple as giving someone a smile or lending an ear) You never know what someone is going through. "Forgotten" is decided to the people of Haiti, as it was written the day before the catastrophic earthquakes.
lyrics
"Forgotten"
Verse 1
A mother tries to figure out
Just how she's gonna feed her child
But nobody lends a helping hand
They don't even stop to think
They just turn the other cheek
Never once do they wonder someday this could be me
And they keep on walking past her fastly down the street
Forgotten member of society
Hook
What if nobody were there for you
Nobody to pick you up when you fall
Remember the ones that you helped to get through
What if they turned their backs and your were forgotten
Verse 2
Now everybody's always preaching to the choir
But when the table's turned
You forget the ones that stood right by your side
Now you're missing in action avoiding all the cries
Hook
Bridge
Don't you worry, you are not forgotten
Hook
You are not forgotten
